Empathy Project cont.....

We are well into our clothing/toy drive in our classroom. Each day we are watching the pile of donations grow which is fantastic. Yesterday, we read the Robert Munch story, "From Far Away" which tells the story of a young Kindergarten girl who immigrated to Canada from a war torn country and the difficulties she encountered upon arriving.

The Kiddoes were entranced during the story and you could see them making connections internally. They asked some very poignant questions as we discussed the story and how difficult it would be to be the child in the story. It is such a moving experience watching them realize how their donations will aid those who are new to our city.

We are about half way to the Kiddoes goal of filling the carpet with donations. If you have any other clothing, blankets or toys to send, we are collecting until Friday! Cheers for all your support!!
