The Great Reindeer Rebellion
We had a fun day today reading the 'The Great Reindeer Rebellion' written by Lisa Trumbauer. The story talks about what happens when Santa's reindeer decide to go on strike. Santa sends out a help wanted ad, and numerous animals come to audition for the role. There were many giggles had as we read about how dogs, cats, flamingos, kangaroos and elephants all wanted to be the new sleigh pullers. During the story, the Kiddos practiced their predicting skills and emphasis was placed on having them make a connection to their prediction (i.e. I know my dog likes to sniff, so I bet those dogs will sniff instead of fly). When we finished reading the story, we had a lively discussion about who we thought could be the new sleigh pullers. Each Kiddo was tasked to imagine, draw and then upload who they thought would be a great reindeer replacement. See your child's e-portfolio for his/her contribution.
