Life Sized Marble Works

The Kiddoes have been exploring one of the science outcomes of force, friction and gravity over the past few weeks. As per usual, why explore small when we can explore big! We first started exploring with regular marble works how we could build structures enabling a marble to go from the top of the structure to the bottom. The Kiddoes quickly figured out that gravity could be effected by a number of elements. Once these concepts became more clear, we packed away the toy marble works and have moved to life sized marble works! Using boxes, plumbing pipes and elbows, eavestrough, tubes and tape, the Kiddoes have been challenged to see if they can get a marble from the roof down to the ground. It has been exciting watching them problem solve collaboratively to accomplish this task. Experiential learning at its best!
