How to Catch a Leprechaun

Each year, my favourite day in Kindergarten is always Leprechaun Trap making day! It is on this day that for the first time I am able to stand back and watch in absolute amazement as the Kiddoes in the room are able to independently break into groups, negotiate ideas with each other and work together to carry out a plan. The only assistance they need from me is in obtaining materials. The Kiddoes this year did not disappoint. As a group, we have worked hard over the past six months to come to this point where the Kiddoes are ready for independent and group work. They are able to take control of their learning! It was exciting watching their ideas come to life in order to catch a wee green man. Take a quick peek at the traps!

Unfortunately we didn't catch a wee man this year. He did leave us a trick and treat though. Ask your child about the 'magic' word we had to say as our trick and treat appeared before our eyes!!!
