With the knowledge of the three types of strategies animals will use to survive in winter (hibernation, migration & adaptation) we once again visited our research. The Kiddoes noticed right away a few of the animals listed from the information provided on Twitter weren't accurate (i.e. we knew bats hibernated in winter and should not be on our list). We went through each animal on the list and if we were 100% sure of what they did in winter, we either crossed them off (due to hibernation or migration) or put a check mark beside them (due to adapting). For those with which we were unsure, we decided to use the research strategy of looking on the computer to see if we could find out what they did in winter.
We now have a list of animals that adapt and remain in Regina during the winter. It is time to answer the second part of our research questions and find out what they eat so we can begin to decorate our 'After Christmas Tree'. But first, we headed outside to find the perfect spot for the tree!!!
