In-Out

I introduced a new 'sorting' game to the Kiddoes today entitled, "In - Out". The way the game works is I come up with a sorting rule that all the words in the 'in' column share, and the Kiddoes must try and figure out my rule by dissecting the words in both columns. Some of the rules they have figured out include: same letter in all the words and all words start/end with the same letter. Rules to come may include: same number of letters in the words or items you might place on a tree etc. This is an excellent and fun way for the Kiddoes to practice many of their emerging literacy skills.
