Giving Tuesday

Today I shared a story with the Kiddoes about a young 6 year old girl in the United States who unfortunately does not have long to live due to an incurable illness. A family member has organized a drive to make her last holiday season special. She has requested individuals to send Christmas cards to the young girl. They would like to give her a lifetime of Christmas cards this year. It wasn't long into my story that the Kiddoes in our room were asking if they could make cards to send. We talked about how we could bring peace to one family. I decided to leave all the decisions up to the Kiddoes about the 'how' part of making a card. Both classes decided they wanted to make one large card together, and then add in personal decorations. I am looking forward to observing the Kiddoes as they work together on this empathy filled project.
