Numbers to 10

We have been working really hard over the past few weeks figuring out all the different ways we can decompose numbers to 10! The Kiddoes are experts at figuring out different ways to show up to the number 5 in two parts. However....... the numbers 6-10 are much trickier (I think because it becomes harder when you can't use both hands to show the combinations)! If you are in the car, around the table, or even on an evening walk, take a few minutes and play the game "How many ways can you show me ????" Give your Kiddoe an easy number to start, for example 4. See if they can show you 4 can be: 4-0, 3-1, 2-2. Try a few each night. Being able to decompose numbers is the first step in learning how to add and subtract!!!
