Is it a box??? It's not a box!

Two years ago I read a great article about a teacher who decided to remove all the toys from his classroom and replace them with simple cardboard boxes. The article detailed how the children became engrossed in projects and the language/cooperation which ensued was amazing. I decided it would be an interesting experiment to see how our Kiddoes would react to the removal of their dramatic play centre and replace it with boxes of all sizes.

There were many puzzled faces on Monday when the Kiddoes entered the room saw the empty boxes. We proceeded to read the story, "Not A Box" written by Antoinette Poitras which shows the limitless possibilities a box can be. It really was interesting to see almost all the Kiddoes decide to play in the dramatic play centre. I was amazed by their enthusiasm, creativity and cooperation. It will be exciting to see where they take this experiment!!
