New Centres

The year may be coming to a close, but here in Kindergarten, we are still learning up a storm. Here are a few things the Kiddoes are up to!

1) Book Making Centre:

This centre has been a hit for the past month. They Kiddoes have every type of material possible they could wish for to make their own book! There is paper, markers, special pens, pencils, markers, clips, hole punches, staplers, and sticky notes to name a few of the supplies available. Perhaps the best part of making a book though is the Canadian sticker they get to put on at the end to signify they are a real Canadian author!

2) Campground

Summer is coming and it's time to enjoy the love we all have for camping! The dramatic play area has been expanded to enable us to tent, fish, enjoy a bonfire, hunt for bugs and read about the great outdoors. However, before you go camping, don't forget to obtain a camping permit!

3) Life Size Painting

This is painting to the extreme! Kiddos have the opportunity to use their whole bodies in this kinesthetic experience!

4) Popcorn Hunt:

All year we have worked hard on how to move through the hallways while remaining respectful of our fellow students. The Kiddos do such a great job that I knew they could be trusted in the hallways by themselves. Thus, the popcorn hunt challenge was born. The kiddos, with a timer around their necks, can choose to walk the hallways and find popcorn words on bulletin boards, in notes, and on plaques. Each time they find one, they write it down to share when they come back to the room. The sound of the buzzer lets them know to head back to class!

These are a few of the learning opportunities in which the Kiddos are involved!
