New Centres

This week the Kiddoes are working at a number of new centres. Check out the things we are doing in class below!

1. Alphabet Cover - The Kiddoes are challenged at this centre to cover all of the letters that don’t match the letter that they chose. They are working on the literacy outcome: CCK.2 - I can identify upper and lower case letters.

2. Make a Pattern Leaf - At this centre, the Kiddoes can use their creativity with patterns to create a pattern leaf. They are working on the numeracy outcome: PK.1 - I can make my own pattern.

                                               a.m.                                                    p.m.

3. Sort and Pattern - This week, the sand table is filled with different gems and rocks. The Kiddoes are challenged to sort them and then use the objects to create patterns. They are working on the numeracy outcomes: SSK.2 - I can sort 3-D objects and tell you how I sorted them. PK.1 - I can make my own pattern.

                                                                             a.m.

4. Number Sequencing - This centre has the Kiddoes using elastic bands to sequence numbers from 1-10. They are working on the numeracy outcome: NK.1 - I can count forwards to 10.

                                                 a.m.                                                   p.m.

5. Piet Mondrian Paintings - Piet Mondrian was a Dutch painter who used geometric shapes and primary colours to represent his ideas. At this centre, the Kiddoes are exploring shape and colour by creating their own versions of Piet Mondrian pieces.

                                                                             a.m.

6. Snap Circuits - At centre time today, we discussed how electricity flows through a circuit, giving us the ability to power different things such as lights and computers. At this centre, the Kiddoes are challenged with the task of turning on a light, a fan, or an alarm using snap circuits. In accomplishing these tasks, they will use both collaboration and fine motor skills as they learn how to power devices.

                                                  a.m.                                                  p.m.

7. Journal Challenge - This week, the Kiddoes are working on pencil grip, cutting skills as well as alphabet matching in the journal challenge.

                                                 a.m.                                                  p.m.

And so the learning goes...
